Judge Bufford rendered a decision in 2006 *In re Sandoval * which you might
find interesting.
But I don't know if there was a state court action in that case that went
to judgment.

I think the operative word in the original message was "civil" as in
"civil judgment." Schedule F.

I was working for Vincent Moneymaker when he represented Don King
Productions and they use to go after bar owners for same reason. I
remember him filing some non-dischargeability complaints. Maybe if you
search pacer? You could see the cases Jeff Smith is talking about.
But look what happened with that debtor and his student loans he had
discharged by a fluke and it was upheld. So couldn't you take same
approach, file, list it, and see if he gets a non-dischargeability
complaint and nego a settlement from there?

Wasn't there a case about 12-15 years ago involving a bar owner that used an illegal feed of a boxing match, then charged customers to come see the fight, then filed BK when his cable provider sued?? I can't recall the name of the case, or the result for that matter, but I recall the facts and the case was significant in its holding at the time.
