Just wanted to remind everyone that NACBA's 21st annual convention is
being held April 26th-28th in San Diego.
I am routinely asked by practitioners here in the CDCA what they can do
to further their bankruptcy knowledge. I the answer I give every time
is run, don't walk, and join the CDCBAA AND NACBA. As we all know,
there is nothing better than our CDCBAA membership to learn the local
nuances of the CDCA. But when it comes to getting lots of useful
information on bankruptcy in one concentrated place no one does it like
NACBA. The annual NACBA convention is always circled in red on my
calendar. Aside from getting the most up to date bankruptcy information
from the country's leading consumer bankruptcy attorneys, Judges and
academics, it is a rare opportunity to meet attorneys from all over the
country. (This is especially valuable when you clients that need to use
other states' exemptions). Another great feature is the vendor room
where you get to see the latest technology being developed to make your
office as efficient as possible.
Some of you know that NACBA is keeping a close eye on the happenings in
one of our Divisions. It is monitoring cases and assisting in appeals.
The NACBA Board has also been helpful in advising many of our attorneys
on how to deal with issues in particular courtrooms. Let's show our
thanks and provide support for NACBA by having a good Southern
California showing at the San Diego convention. This year we do not
have to pay any air fare needed to get there. If you are relatively new
to the bankruptcy practice I recommend you run, not walk, and sign up
for this year's convention.
