*SENATE BILL 308: DEBTOR EXEMPTIONS*
Dear California NACBA Members & Consumer Attorneys:
You effort is making a difference! SB 308, which will be a great victory
for you and your clients, has passed Assembly Appropriations and *will be
voted on by the full Assembly as early as tomorrow, September 1s*t. We are
SO close. Once it passes the Assembly, it will go back to the Senate for
final approval and then to the Governor for final sign off.
There is only one thing standing in the way of success here: *The
California Bankers Association is aggressively opposing the bill*. They
dont want to give financially vulnerable Californians a fighting chance to
get back on their feet. The bankers are telling Assembly Members that this
bill protects the wealthy from their creditors. You know how many wealthy
Californians you represent in bankruptcy, right? None! Zero!
To counter this aggressive opposition campaign, it is important that you *CALL
YOUR ASSEMBLY MEMBER NOW*! Look up your Assembly Member here
