My understanding is it's not an errors and omissions policy; rather, only protects estate against defalcation by trustee or trustee's employees. Has been used in past, for example, to try to recover funds stolen by an employee.

What's the purpose of the trustee's bond then, if not to recover after you
prosecute with the proper leave of court?
