Copyright Infringement - German Law Firm sending emails
Its a really good scam. The letter looks right, and it is for a big firm
in Berlin. But if you look at who the attorneys are, the one who wrote the
letter is not one of their attorneys. And they actually go to your
web-site and look for something you used, like a picture, and then claim
that they represent the person who created the work. In this case, It was
a picture of a neon sign hanging in a public place. . . . can't even begin
to tell you how non-copyrightable the demand is. They demanded 1500 Euros
from my client who is in bankruptcy. He removed the picture (even though
he has a license for it) and they came back wanting him to sign something
admitting to the infringement and send the money and they won't sue him. .
. in GERMANY lol. Funny one. But had my client going there. I'm an
attorney and I almost bought into it! Amazing what happens in the world.
I told them to contact me directly. Let's see if they do.
