don't file a joint case. Get waivers signed and file separate cases. Just tell them NO.

Hi, all,
I have married clients who separated after they retained me, and now have separate households. They still want to file a joint petition. I've tried to do some research on what issues I should keep in mind, but I still am not clear how to deal with the Means Test.
1. Should I prepare two separate Means Tests, each with their separate income and expenses?
2. If so, what happens if one spouse qualifies and the other doesn't?
If there is anyone who has dealt with this issue, would you be willing to answer a few other questions as they come up?
Thanks,
Christian
