I use a Mac too. You need to click "All Images" at the bottom of your screen
when you go to attach a pdf

Subject: [cdcbaa] Browser misfunctions
Hello All:
I use both Chrome and Safari as browsers on my Mac.
I have been unable to use Chrome to upload documents on ECF for some
time; the browser does not recognize pdf's on my hard drive (they show up,
but not distinctly, and do not attach when I click on them).
Safari was working perfectly for this, but I recently had to reset
most of the old settings on the computer, and now it is acting the same
way: I can see a ghost of a file which won't attach when clicked.
Has anyone had the same issue, and if so, what do you do?
