If it's a private lender, yes.
Check the statute of limitations underlying the private student loan Note.
Remember that there is a SOL issue at play for the private loans; they are
treated specially only inside bankruptcy court - not in the wild.

Has anyone else seen a student lender sue the delinquent borrower either before or after a bankruptcy or some other aggressive collection measure?

I thought the article was a good one, but dealt solely with the issue of student loans in bankruptcy. That tells only half the story - the bleak one.
I do a significant amount of student loan resolution for my clients, and they get very good results. For example, the income-based repayment option is far better for borrowers than deferment and forbearance.
In addition, Public Service Loan Forgiveness Program is a boon to employees of a federal, state, or local government agency, entity, or organization or a non-profit organization that has been designated as tax-exempt by the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) under Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code (IRC).

For some of clients, using the DOE regulations and federal programs has
changed a client's life overnight. They use their bankruptcy lawyer for
the 7 or 13, come to me for the student loan resolution, and end up
thrilled with both of us.
