Christine:
I totally agree, know that such animals exist, and would love to have
that for my clients.
If you ever find out any specifics please let me know.
Anyone else willing to divulge such a thing if it's not a trade secret?

I don't like secured credit cards, unless they eventually convert to an
unsecured credit card. I would not want my deposit stuck at some bank
indefinitely. Also, the only way to get a deposit back on most secured
cards requires the credit line to be shut down, which has a negative impact
on the credit score.
I don't have any recommendations other than my opinion.

Ive never done any shopping for the best cards to get.
Also, if anyone wants a good car broker who helps debtors get decent deals on cars with decent loans (considering the credit profile) you can contact me off list.

Dear List Mates:
I was just informed by a former client that he has applied for about 10
secured credit cards after he received his discharge, and been turned
down for all of them. This seems odd since the credit line is fully
secured by their own money in a separate account.
I routinely advise most of my clients to get a secured card to rebuild
credit, and only use half of the amount of the credit line to avoid
over utilization downgrades.
I've never done any shopping for the best cards to get.
Does anyone have a card they can recommend?
Also, if anyone wants a good car broker who helps debtors get decent
deals on cars with decent loans (considering the credit profile) you can
contact me off list.
Thank you
