if I want to move a hearing date that the moving party set, what do I file?

Moving party filed a motion to quash my trial subpoena. He set the hearing
on his motion WAY OUT past the trial date. So now I have to go in and get
his motion heard before my trial, as the subpoena is for him to appear AT
the trial. Trial is in 3 weeks so there's not time for me to do a noticed
motion to change the hearing date on the quash motion.
Just trying to figure out procedurally how to handle this. If I want to
move the hearing on the moving party's motion for two weeks from now,
rather than 3 months from now, do I file an application for an order
setting hearing on shortening notice? Would I call it a motion to
reschedule the hearing date?
Or can I just do a short cut and file a notice of motion, re-noticing his
hearing for a different date?
Any samples are appreciated.
