Members,
If the Federal Budget is not passed, you are instructed to go to the Court's website for a formal announcement.
Our members should plan on having Court hrgs next week since it is very likely that if the budget is not passed then the Chief Judge will issue an Order holding all bankruptcy courts and their staff as necessary and exigent for ongoing operations. This is what Chief Judge Calvin Ashland did in the past and this is what is planned in case the situation arises tonight.

I, too, have not been contacted by anyone at any level of government. However, I have been contacted by the American Bankruptcy Institute, which sent me this in an email yesterday:
NEWS AND ANALYSIS
BANKRUPTCY COURTS PREPARED TO RUN FOR TWO WEEKS IF GOVERNMENT SHUTS DOWN TOMORROW
If Congress is unable to agree on the continued funding of government before April 8th, the Judiciary is prepared to use non-appropriated fees to keep the courts running for up to two weeks, according to the Administrative Office of the U.S. Courts. Once that funding is exhausted, however, federal courts would limit operation to essential activities per their own contingency plans. For the federal bankruptcy courts, this would mean limiting activities to those functions necessary and essential to continue the resolution of cases. All other personnel services would be suspended.
