Mark:
Haven't done the research on this issue for a number
of years, but there are a significant number of cases
limiting the personal injury exemption category.
Some parse subsidiary claims, limiting the exemption
to actual physical repair.

Just thought maybe someone had dealt with it before. I don't like reinventing the wheel unless I have to.

This is in California. Debtor files a personal injury action against a doctor for messing up an operation. Attorney blows SOL deadline. Attorney agrees to settle with Debtor for $50,000.
Is that $50,000 from debtor's attorney still considered proceeds from personal injury for exemption purposes?
