Talent Agent
I have a client who filed a Chapter 7 bankruptcy. She is a talent agent and her company for her bond will not renew her because she filed for bankruptcy.
She has been contacting other bond companies but it seems like they want 100% up fron to bond her and will not take monthly payments. She has contacted the NAACP who has told her that they worked with Magic Johnson when he was starting out for a bond and was able to get monthly payments.
I have contacted one of the bond companies and they will not accept monthly payments.
Has anyone had this situation before and does anyone know a bond company that will take monthly payments? Without this bond, she cannot work as a talent agent.
Thanks,
Nate Berneman

Thanks for the input. I found out that they are not canceling her current policy but will not bond her once her contract with them expires and it is based on her credit worthiness which is checked out each year.

Hasn't anyone had this problem before about the bond company canceling the talent agents bond?

Basically, without the bond, the debtor willl be out of work.
Any thoughts on what I can do besides having them find another bond company which will most likely reject them as well.
Thanks,
