Their really can be pitfalls for the unwary. This year, for instance,
taxes are due on April 18 because today is the Emancipation day holiday inDC. However for Maine and Massachusetts residents, their deadline is April
19 because Monday is the Patriots' day holiday. 3 years from now we haveto remember this and either wait until at least the 20th of April for
debtors without any extensions and/or tolling events or remember to ask whether
the debtor was a Maine or Massachusetts resident in 2015.

The lookback period is "three years." It's not "1,095 days."
Taxes were due on 4/15/2013. Three years after that is today. So if you
file tomorrow, and there are no tolling events, you should be fine.
But if you wait until 4/20, what is the downside? I'd recommend filing
later just to assuage your anxiety about this, even if there is no other
reason to do so.

I have a case in which an extension was not filed and it should be
dischargeable next week.
I have it scheduled for the 19th, which is the day after taxes were due.
Tax returns are due April 18th)
Ive heard leap years can affect the IRS determination.
Is the 19th OK, or would it be better to wait until the 20th?
I hope everyone is having a good tax season.
